You wouldn't wear flip flops with a Carolina Herrera gown. You wouldn't serve champagne in a pint glass. So what sense does pairing your custom stationary with a clunky liberty bell postage stamp make? None. Think of the postage as an extension of your invitation suite. Much like the calligraphy, a lovely stamp is a finishing details not to be overlooked. Don't underestimate the importance that tiny square. It's a detail not to be overlooked. If you are considering the stamp, choose a pretty one at the post office. I don't understand designing your own and then having a big black bar code at the bottom. It ruins the effect.
These are such fabulous combinations! Great post!
love it! what a great idea! the blue is so pretty.
You are right about the necessary to put a nice stamp on your invites. I do it when I write thank you cards or invites for milestone events.
Those ones are a nice alternative. It has more style although it is sad that they cannot integrate more seamlessly the rate information. The combinations look great.
I agree anon. there's lots that I dislike about Zazzle in particular like the barcode and the add'l cost. I saw a post on weddingbee where the couple just used vintage stamps the found on ebay. It looked amazing.
So excited you posted this b/c if you check out my blog, which you inspired me to create, you will see that I am obessed with damask. My invitations have this as the background and now my stamps can too!!!
I love the idea for the stamps to match/coordinate with the invitation. These stamps would make the invitation that much more stunning! Love it!
