bright idea

What a fantastically creative way to decorate the table. Dann Seo, contributing editor at Country Home magazine, shared this eco-friendly find in this month's issue. Head straight over to Goodwill and look for mismatched, even chipped, glassware to transform into an elegant table vignette. Keep an eye out for attractive stems in places like HomeGoods, Ikea and CB2. Also click over to Toast and Tables. There is no end to the amount of gorgeous glasses you'll find there (like the ones below.)

To make, simply insert a pretabbed candlewick in the middle of your vessel, steady it with some leftover chopsticks and melt a package of soy wax in a double boiler over low heat. Pour the melted soy wax into the stemware of your choice and let cool completely. Remove those chopsticks and pour yourself a glass of wine.

These and other earth friendly projects can be found in any of Danny's books, Simply Green Parties, Simply Green Giving and Conscious Style Home.

Anne, what a beautiful way to showcase crystal glasses. I can just imagine the illumination of the light when placed in cut stemware. Gorgeous!

Thanks for giving Toast and Tables a shout out...
